Springing forward!
Wow, it’s that time again. I can’t believe how early it is this year. But I’m not complaining! I’m actually looking forward to it. I’m looking forward to the kids, mainly Princess, sleeping in an hour longer, and I’m looking forward to having longer days. I can start walking in the evenings now. It will be much warmer and I will have one less excuse to use about the walking. he he
Speaking of exercise, I’m really going to start exercising more and eating healthier and NOT eating anything late at night. That is my worst habit. It’s not even that I’m hungry, it’s just that I’m bored (even though I’d be watching TV, or on the computer, or knitting (I will tell you all about it later)). Plus the food is always just there and is calling my name. But I don’t want not to have the food/snacks, I want to really start controlling my addiction. Like right now, I’m sitting at the computer and typing this all up and I’m so wanting some Mini Eggs. And I have them, they’re right there in my kitchen, but I’m not going to get them. I’m just not.
Well, it’s getting late and I’ve had a long, but fun day today with my family, so I better get going.
Don’t forget to spring forward your clock’s!
I am back! :)
I know I know, I have been a horrible blogger in the last what, like 2 months. Honestly, just had no motivation, no real free time to sit down and not be interrupted for 30 minutes. And if I had some piece and quiet, I was catching up on some TV shows.
I hope that somebody is still reading this. I’ve been still following some of the blogs and some people have been having fun blogging, and some I haven’t seen any post in a while too.
Hopefully you all be back!
A quick update. Kids are growing like weeds, and getting smarter and smarten each and every day, sometimes I even wonder if they’re too smart for their own good?! I’m still here, still the same, trying to control this crazy life. Hubby is there and the same too. ![]()
For over a week now we’ve been sick. It started with Kapitonas getting a cold (or so we thought!) on January 21st. Monday to Tuesday night he woke up with a bad cough. Very bad cough! Bark like sounding cough. Croup? So Tuesday made a trip to the doctors and what do you know, he had croup. But that only lasted until that night, and then it was back to normal wet sounding cough. By Friday the cough sounded much deeper then just in the throat, so we made another trip to the doctors, before the weekend you know. It turned out that he had some fluid in his lungs, a pre-bronchitis? So he is on antibiotics for 10 days. Five days down, five more to go. He still has the cough, but it doesn’t sound as deep and he is feeling much much better! Oh and that whole week he was running a fever.
Now the Princess is a few days behind her brother. Although she did managed to skip croup and head straight to the lungs filled with some liquid and the fever of course. Made a trip to the doctors last Monday. Oh and then on top of that, she has a mild ear infection. Her left ear is just a little infected. So yes, she is on antibiotics too. But we’re having a much harder time giving them to her, as she’s not really liking them. Where Kapitonas just takes his on goes on. I think we ended up waisting 3 doses. She kept spitting out. Then I tried mixing with strawberry milk, well she only drank half of that. Then some chocolate milk, but I think the chocolate doesn’t get rid of the medicine flavor that good, so she only drank half of it too. And no, I didn’t make a full cup, just a half of a little cup. Then today I told her that she either has to drink her chocolate milk, or she’ll be getting the medicine either she wants it or not.
Then on Tuesday, I woke up with a losing voice. Today is sounding worse then it was yesterday, but at least I can still talk.
I did start having a little cough here and there, so who knows what I have. Although I’ve heard that the losing voice thing has been going around.
Hubby is the healthiest one. He did take some medicine the other day, he thought he was coming down with something, but is totally fine today. So who knows?!
On a happier not, I just booked out plane tickets to LT for this summer. I’m so excited!!!! But that also means that more then likely I won’t be blogging much while I’m on vacation. But I will try to pop in here and there.
Well, I guess this will do for tonight and I’ll try to be back sooner then later!

Now Add them up and…
Put “I’ve seen … out of 239 films” in the subject line and repost it.
Seriously?!
You know what? The nicer you are to people, the meaner they will be to you. I’ve already learned that so many times! And it is so true. Once in a blue moon you will get that nice person. But seriously, what is wrong with people these days?!
Maybe I should direct this post toward teenagers, because they are scary and I’m scared for our future. I had this incident happen to me today.
We line in a town home and we all have 1 assigned parking spot and one car garage. All our spots are marked RESERVED with a number. My understanding of a reserved is that it belongs to someone and only THAT person can park there. Period.
Apparently, some people don’t get that. Princess and I were waiting for Daddy and Kapitonas to get home from church. We were standing outside next to our building and waiting for the car to pull in. I see this white cars pulls in, I don’t think anything of it (since there are a lot of people that drive in and out the long drive-way, they are all residents and once in while we get a visitor), then I see this teenage girl is walking out to the street, crosses the street and goes in in the house across. What the heck?! I’m thinking, did she park in one of our spots (by ‘ours’ I mean all the residents that live in these town homes) or maybe in a visitors spot? This is a private property, even the visitors belong to us, and only OUR visitors can park there.
So walk down to the parking are to see if that white car is parked in the visitors. Nope. Then I look at my spot and there it is. That same white car that pulled in a few minutes ago. And that car must belong to that teenage girl that I saw walk across the street to the house. Now mind you, there was plenty of spots in the street, in fact right in front of their house, AND and empty drive-way.
Hubby pulls in a few minutes later and of course now he doesn’t have where to park. He walks over to that house, but no one answers. Now I KNOW someone is there, I SAW that girl walk in the house. Five minutes later I walk down and ring the doorbell for like 15 times. While still outside the door, I hear their home phone is ringing and someone yells out “Just tell then their not home!”. I ring the doorbell a few more times. Nothing. Fine. I walk back and we block the car in. While we still out there, I see a teenage boy walking into that house. So I walk down there and of course the girls (there were 2 in the house) open the door. I tell them that they need to move their car, because they parked on a private property in a RESERVED parking.
The three of them walk back. I tell them again very nicely that this is a private property and that next time we’ll just call the towing company. (I’m thinking to myself that I could have called the towing co, but I was being nice and was trying to get them to move their car and saving them some $$ and hassle). OMG!! You should have seen one of the girls go off at me. I think that was the girl that lives here and the other girl and boy were friends. She was like F this and F that and you fucking bitch. All of this was directed at me. I said excuse me? She says “I have a freedom of speech and I can say whatever I want you fucking bitch!” I seriously couldn’t believe all this. I told her that I could have just called and had someone tow their car. She said she’s going to call and have my car towed (because when hubby parked the car, he was blocking part of her car, so I needed to move my car out the way for them to leave).
I should’ve just left my car there, and should’ve had them call. They would’ve gotten in a big trouble for so many reasons.
I drive my car forward, they back out, and flip me off while driving away. :O
Yup, these are the teenagers these days.
Oh and somewhere there I mentioned that maybe I should just talk to her parents. She didn’t reply to that.
Seriously, if I would’ve done something like that as a teenager, I would be shitting my pants and praying that they don’t tell anything to my parents. I would apologize that I parked there, move my car and drive away. I wouldn’t even think of calling the person names.
That really scares me and makes me wonder if it’s the parents’ fault, or just the way teenagers are these days. And if they are, then it makes me wonder how will my kids be when they are teenagers.
Slacking and TV
So I’ve been totally slacking about bloging. I know, bad me! There are thing I want to share with you all, but there is not enough time in the day. Or not enough uninterrupted time.
At night time, after the kids are in bed I used to spend some time on the computer, just catching up on things. Well now, I spend all that time watching TV. I don’t remember when was the last time I’ve watched that much tv. Not that I watch it much, just about 1-2 hours a day/night. Oh and it doesn’t happen every single night.
All the shows that we watch, we record them. This way we don’t have to watch them when they’re on, we can watch them on our own time.
Let’s see if I can remember all:
- Monday – Heroes, Worst Week, One Tree Hill
- Tuesday – CIS, 90210, Privileged, Fringe
- Wednesday – Gary Unmarried
- Thursday - Ugly Betty
- Friday – Lipstick Jungle
- Saturday – we usually watch a kids movie as a family, and then at night time catching up on something we missed during the week.
- Sunday – Amazing Race
Then I watch The Ellen DeGeneres Show that is one every day. I think those are all the regulars that I/we watch. Hubby also watches Smallville and The Unit. Then when we do have some more time, we’ll watch one of those cooking shows like Kitchen Nightmares.
I hope I didn’t miss any, although I have a feeling that I did. If I’ll remember some later, I’ll add it.
Now I’m off to try Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffins that the kids and I baked this morning. They smell so good! Yum!
Oh and tonight I’ll be going to a mom’s night out! We’ll be meeting at someones house for some snacks, drinks, games and most importantly adult conversations with out kids interruptions. How fun is that?!
Have a good Saturday everyone!
Monday ramblings
Well, nothing new to report here today. The kids were a PIT-you-know-what this morning. And I think that it still has something to do with the stupid time change. They’re waking up a whole our earlier. Princess wakes up at 6 or a little after, and Kapitonas shortly after her. It’s annoying that they don’t go back to sleep, because I can tell they are still sooooo tired and yawning all morning. But if you ask them, they’ll tell you that they’re wide awake. Yeah, right!
They were better in the afternoon, after their naps.
Kapitonas has been really bored lately. He doesn’t tell me that he is, but I can just tell. He’ll just be walking around and look for things he can get into. He loves coloring, water painting, but you can only color so much in one day. So today we went to one of the happiest places on earth – Toys R Us. We wanted to get him another set of Lego’s, as he also loves building things with them, but again, you can only build so much with one set.
If you’re reading this and have a toddler around 4 years of age, what are their favorite things to do? I’m just looking for other ideas to keep him occupied while at home. And since winter is coming, that means rain is coming, that means we’ll be spending more time at home.
Oh, and yes, both kids still have sniffles. Kapitonas is not as bad as Princess is. Poor thing kept wiping her nose all day long. We have one day left until our mini vacation, they need to get better. Now I’m just afraid that we might not be able to go.
Sunday
Well first of all, we had a really really great time visiting old friends in LA yesterday. It was really fun to talk and catch up on things. Can you believe that we stayed there four hours?! With kids?! And that they were very good. I did bring them some stuff to keep them busy – coloring books and crayons, Leapsters and of course cars.
———————–
Today it was such a nice day. It was a little windy outside, but we ended up spending most of the day inside. We cleaned out our pantry. It really needed to be reorganized as we were not finding things in there, and even found some stuff that we didn’t know we had. Now I know what we have and where exactly everything is. It’s nice!
Kids were having a blast playing all day. They were getting along pretty good, and that is always very important. Kapitonas wanted to make a tent in the middle of the room, so we did that and they were having so much fun with it! The only thing is that they didn’t really eat much today. Maybe it’s because they were playing nicely.
Princess woke up with a little runny nose.
And she woke up 6 am. I am really hating this time change. Why do they even bother with changing the times?! It just messes everyone up, especially the kids.
I still hope that the kids don’t get sick and that those runny noses will go away by Wednesday. The kids and I will be going away for a few days for a mini vacation with a friend and her daughter. We will be going to Disneyland! My friend got a 2 bedroom with a kitchen time share for free!! And it is just down the street from Disneyland. You can’t beat that!! So I’m really looking forward to it. Now lets just hope we stay all healthy!
