The Super Slide

Viktor has been telling Lukas about this super slide at one of the parks for over a week now. It’s at a very nice park about half an hour away. Viktor took me there when we were dating, looong time ago. I remember the park a little, it had a little nice pond, a nice bridge and lots of lots of grass. The slide stated at the top of the hill where the playground was and it went down to where the pond was (not close to the pond at all, but in that same area).  It is away from the street so you don’t get the smog there. Very nice park! 

So last Saturday we decided to take him there. As soon as we woke up we started telling him that today we will be going on the super slide. The whole time all Lukas was saying was ’super slide’, ‘big big slide’. When we got there Ava was alseep in the car so I stayed with her and Lukas and Viktor went to find the slide. They come back less than ten minutes later, Viktor shacking his head, he tells me that the slide is gone! How could this be?! We’ve been telling our little boy for over a week that we will be going on this big slide and now it’s gone. It turns out that we lied to our boy.

When Ava woke up we all went back to the park. And yep, there wasn’t even a mark that the slide was ever there. Lukas did end up having fun playing with the sand, swinging, and throwing a football around. But the whole time he still kept saying Super Slide. We explained it to him that the slide is not there anymore. But he still kept saying super slide, big big slide.

I guess we won’t be mentioning Super Slide around here anymore. I wonder though, why did they took it out? Was it a safety issue, did someone get hurt, did it cost too much to repair it as the slide was getting old?
