Boring

Posted in Uncategorized by Ilma on the 01/30/2008

So I’ve been missing for a while now. Don’t know why, but I just haven’t been in a mood to blog. Not that I had the best subject to talk about. I just couldn’t make myself to sit down and write/type. I much preferred reading other blogs.

Anyway, it has been raining a lot. It rained for a week with barely any breaks in between. Then the kids cought something. Buggery noses, some coughing and sneezing here and there. Not fun!! Thank God Hubby and I are somehow staying sick free. I hope it stays that way.

Kids have been pretty good for the most part. As much as we stayed indoors, I’m surprised how well they did. I’m not comlaining though! Now just waiting for the weather to get a little warmer and for those buggers to go away and we’ll be all set for going out again.

More to come later ;)

An interesting week

Where do I begin? Even though we didn’t really leave the house this week, yet a lot has happened. But when you have two toddlers at home, you can’t expect your life to be boring.

TUESDAY. We had left over spaghetti for lunch. With some sauce and Parmesan cheese. Kids went off to play, hubby left for work and I decided to clean it all up in a half an hour or so. I sat down at the computer, couple minutes later I had to go to the kitchen and when I looked in the living room where the kids have been playing, it looked like there was a bunch of snow in there, except that it was dry. It was Parmesan cheese ALL OVER the floor, rug, kids table, play kitchen, couches, I mean everywhere!! And not just a little pile here and there, it was spread all over. I wish I would’ve taken a picture, but I was so pissed that taking a picture didn’t even come to my mind. The only thing that was running through my mind was that I have to clean this all up. I didn’t even know where to start it. I did the floor first, then vacuumed the rug and the couches, then the kitchen, the table, the toys. I thought about making kids help me clean it up, but since parmesan cheese crumbs are so tiny and all over the place, thought they would make more mess then help me. Instead I put a movie on and they stayed out of my hair. But, they did loose some toys for the day.

WEDNESDAY started out as any regular day. Kids were content playing. When hubby went back to work after lunch, kids were playing with their cars in the dining room on the floor. While I could see them from the computer room, I figured I have a few minutes to go on-line. Several minutes later they disappeared into the living room. At first I thought they took the cars there and were making some parking lots, or traffic jams. But after few minutes it got really quite. I go in to check on them and I couldn’t believe what I saw. The play kitchen that stands next to our bar are for the kitchen, was moved all the way in the middle of the room. What!?! Who did this? L proudly admitted that it was him and that A helped him a little. This kitchen is not some little kitchen that you can pick it up and walk around. It is a big piece of furniture! Then L announces that he wants his table to go in the place of the kitchen and that he like the kitchen in the middle of the room. No no no mister!! When you have your own house then you can rearrange the things the way you want it. For now things stay like mommy and daddy likes it. He wasn’t very happy with us moving the kitchen back to where it was. We also explained to him that if we leave the kitchen where it was originally, him and his sister will have more room to play. He hasn’t tried moving it since.

For dinner we had chili and as usual, kids did not eat it. I steamed some vegetables for them, since a lot of the time they will eat those. But not that night! Instead of leaving their food in the plates, they dump it all on their trays. I’m thinking, fine, as long as they eat it. Not a chance! They pick up a bunch of veggies in their hands and start squeezing the juice/water out of them. They thought it was the funniest thing. Then one of them (don’t remember which one) accidentally drops some on the floor, so of course the other one does the same thing. Good thing it wasn’t a lot that they dropped. We took it all away before it turned out into some sort of food fight. Guess what they had for dinner? Nothing!! Except for those 2 bites of chili, a pea, a carrot, and a green bean.

THURSDAY day it all went well. A few tantrums here and there, a few whines here and there, but nothing really exciting during the day. At 3:00 am was when it all started. A woke up and started whining a little, then started calling Momma, Dadda, Momma, Dadda for I’m not kidding you, like 5 minutes. We’re trying to sleep through her talking as it is only 3 am. She usually gets a cup of milk at around 5-6am, depending on when she wakes up and what time V goes to work. He makes her a bottle before he goes to work. She started getting louder and louder, and when she started crying, we decided to just give her her milk and hoping she would go back to sleep. She usually will sleep from 9 pm until 5-6 am. By that time L woke up and came to our bed. As he does every morning, except not at three, but at 6-7 am, or later. She finishes her milk and is still not happy. I give in and bring her to our bed (V gets the boy and goes to his room) hoping she would just lay down and go to sleep. Nope!! She starts crawling out of bed and walking around. At 3 o’clock in the morning!!! She walks to L room and starts bringing Daddy books to read. And no, she is not sleep walking. L thinks it’s the funniest thing ever. I get the boy and bring it back to my bed while Daddy and girl stay at L’s room. She kept bringing him the books and insisting on reading. Of course you can’t really read them in the dark. Finally she falls asleep. Next thing I know, she comes to my room at 8 am. Now it might not seem that early, but when she was up close to an hour in the middle of the night, I was expecting her to sleep at least until 9 am. When I went to L’s room in the morning, there was a huge pile of books on the floor next to bed, hubby was just throwing them there when she was handing them to him.

Gotta love the kids!! :)

Off to bed now as it is after 11, I have a headache and just not feeling well. I hope I’m not getting sick.

Don’t have the name of this song, but it is from the album “Už tuos kurie”. It did make me tear up  :(

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Kai manęs jau daugiau nebebus, krisiu tau lietumi i kasas,

Just a reminder

To all the parents with little kids. I went to Costco today and as I walked into the store I heard this big quiet and at the same time loud booom. Right in front of us a little girl, between 1-1.5 years old fell out of the shopping cart on concrete. She was laying face down and started screaming immediately. Her mom freaked out and dad picked her up and this girl was just screaming at the top of her lungs. Her and her little older sister were sitting in the part where you put your groceries (that big part of the cart) and not in the proper seat for kids. I don’t know if the older sister pushed the little one out, or if she was leaning, or trying to reach for something.

It was so scary! I got chills and I felt my heart was beating so fast. I kind of started getting sick, just thinking that it could have been my kid. We also put our kids in that part of the shopping cart and that was a very good reminder not to. Even if you’re paying attention or holding your kid by hand, you just never know.

Five or so minutes later, we saw them again and the girl looked fine. She was sitting in the cart in the proper spot and looked happy. She was smiling and all. Thank God she was ok. A lot could’ve happened.

Just pay very close attention to your kids when they are in the shopping carts, the wring spot or the right one. You just never know.

Another week has gone by

It’s almost middle of January. Don’t ask me where the time has gone by.

Nothing new happening around here. The last few days weather has been very nice, so we’ve been spending quite some time at the park. Kids love it! They are not very happy when we have to go home and take naps. And if they take a shorter nap than usual for whatever reason, then watch out! Don’t even look at them. Because any way you look at them, it will be the wrong way. Although today they were wonderful! Napped well and were really good the rest of the day.

We had Soup Plantation for dinner tonight. I haven’t had in a while and it was good! They opened up a brand new one in our mall just down the street. Nice! They can expect to see us again sometime soon.

My tooth is doing much better. I still feel something there, but A LOT better then what it was. Next week I’ll be making an appointment to get it pulled. I guess more pain coming my way.

My lucky day

Posted in Uncategorized by Ilma on the 01/07/2008

So my dentist appointment went pretty well. They took pictures and everything looks good. So all the pain and swelling that’s been going on in there is due to some food, probably popcorn, stuck all the way in the back behind my wisdom tooth. They cleaning it out and said it should get better. But they said I would have to get some tissues cut off there, since they’ve been growing on my tooth or I could get my wisdom tooth pulled. I don’t know which sounds better.

With cutting the tissues off, they will more than likely will grow back and I’ll have to keep cutting it. If I get the tooth pulled I don’t have to worry about the tissues. Or anything else ever going on with that tooth.

I’ll think about it for a few days, but I’m kind of leaning towards getting it pulled, since we don’t really need those teeth anyway.

Any ideas or experiences?

Ugh

It’s just my luck. It is just meant for me to be in pain. You know I’ve been in pain this year so far. What a great way to start of a year. So I call in to the dentist first thing in the morning and my dentist is on a sick leave this whole week. Agh!! They told me to still come in and they’ll take pictures of the hurting side and then we’ll see from there. If it is something I can wait until next week or if it needs to be taken care of right away. She did look at my chart and saw some notes from the dentist saying that one of the tooth is in need of a crown. No!! Not a crown!! Please, don’t let it be a crown! I just can not afford another crown again!

I’m still in pain, nothing has changed. Advil is still my best friend.

I’ll be leaving in half an hour and will update later.

Wish me luck

First thing tomorrow in the morning I will be calling my dentist and begging them to take me in asap. I’ve been in a horrible pain since last Tuesday. My right cheek and part of the lower gums towards the end are all swollen and the pain is so bad I can barely take it. Advil is my best friend for last several days. You don’t even want to know how much I’m taking. Don’t worry, I’m not over dosing my self. Well, maybe just a little. But with out it I would be curled up in bed, crying and not wanting to see anyone.

I had this while swelling pain thing about 2 months ago. It lasted about a week and went away. The pain wasn’t as bad as it is this time. After it went away, I thought it was a one time thing, so I didn’t even bother of calling the dentist. Because we all know how much I love going to one. I went there about 7 months ago and only spent couple hours once a week for about a month. And I even had to visit a dentist while on my vacation in Lithuania this last summer. I love dentists. NOT!!

After having a horrible pain and swelling this time, I decided that I better go in and get checked out. Tomorrow will be day 7 and it’s not getting any better. Only with the help of Advil. Even then I still feel pain. You know, I’m almost getting used to it.

The reason I haven’t gone in earlier is because I was thinking and hoping that it would go away on it’s own and because they were still closed for the Holidays since Christmas. I would like to work there. It’s like having a Christmas break when you’re in school.

Anyway, I’m so dreading tomorrow.
