All over
I know I haven’t been around much lately, and some of the latest blogs might be written weird, kind of all over the place. But hang in there. There has been stuff going on and my mind is just all over the place most of the time. But I’m trying…
Day at the zoo
We didn’t actually spent the whole day there, but long enough to make us all tired. Since Viktor didn’t work on Saturday (he usually works on Saturdays), we decided to do something different then just sitting at home or going to a few local places. Viktor has mentioned the idea of going to the zoo earlier that week and Lukas overheard him and got all excited about it.
Last time we went to the zoo when Lukas turned one. I wanted to go back there when Ava turned one, but that never happened. So Lukas doens’t really remember anything about it, except from some pictures from last time.
They were both really excited about going there. That’s all Lukas talked about on the way there. The parking lot was packed when we got there. I still able to find a spot, but it was all the way in the corner.
The tickets were going to cost us $25 for one day, but if we were to get a year pass, it would be $75. Not that bad I think. We ended up getting a year pass. We only need to go there 2 more time and we’ll get our money’s worth. But I’m sure we’ll go there more often then that. Plus you get all these other discounts to other zoo’s. To some zoo’s you get 50% off, and some you get in for free. And they are all over the country. Not bad if you ask me!
We took the double stroller with us just in case they would both want to sit at the same time. It was a life saver! I did expect Ava to sit more then Lukas, but I didn’t expect for Lukas to sit as much as he did. For probably half the zoo they both sat in the stroller. They only got out to see flamingo’s and then back to the stroller. It seemed that Lukas was just too shy to be walking around, and I think he was kind of scared of all the animals.
He got really excited when he saw monkeys. That’s when he got out and ended up walking a lot. Ava of course, wanted to follow her brother. But it’s a little harder with her since she still goes where ever she wants to instead of just staying close to us. Even though Lukas was walking around and asking us about all the animals, he still never got too close to the fence to see them. I couldn’t even get a descent picture of him with an animal in the background.
Ava on the other hand, was trying to climb the fences. But I also couldn’t get a good picture of her, because she would never turn around and look at the camera. So the shots that I did get, was of her back.
We didn’t get to see all the animals as we were all getting tired, but that’s ok, we can do that next time we got there. I’m thinking it might be soon!
